APPLICATIONS

Our mission is to support young people who want to pursue careers in vocational fields.  Applicants are invited to apply if they meet the below criteria:

- Two years experience in high school in vocational programs OR

- Completed a year vocational work in a skilled trade OR

- Completed 50% of a licensed vocation  

WHEN

Applications are due on May 1st, by midnight. Any applicants that are submitted after the deadline will not be considered. The application process opens April 1st at 8am.  Scholarship recipients will be announced no later than June 15th.  

HOW – Please submit, via email, a written statement of no more than one page outlining what you are wanting to study or what you are studying. Include in your statement why this field of study is of interest to you and your plans. Please discuss why you like this type of work and how this work contributes to the YaBud Spirit (read our website for details on this). Also, please submit no more than 5 photos of your work AND three short letters of recommendation that verify your commitment to this vocation and your work ethic. Your whole packet – written statement, photos, and three letters should be made into one pdf and submitted to yabudscholarships@gmail.com.  Multiple attached documents WILL NOT be considered. 

Vocational Fields – these are examples and not a complete list - - painters, plumbers, pipefitters, electricians, machinists, mechanics, cosmetology, massage therapists, nursing assistants, masons, sheet metal, HVAC techs, vet techs, medical techs, etc.
